The dirty politics get started in the campaign for Mayor of Coleraine! Team Morrison is trying to represent a clear "back to basics" and "family values" platform while Team Richter looks for any mud they can sling at their opponents. The worst part is who\'s getting caught in the crossfire!
How about you
Have you ever tried to do the "right thing" and it seemed like people who did the "wrong thing" came out on top? Didn\'t that leave you feeling discouraged?
Check this out
If you\'ve ever felt that way, you\'re in good company! Take a look at the very beginning of the 22nd Psalm,
My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?
Sound familiar? Those words were first written by David the great psalmist and King of Israel. But then, hundreds of years later, Jesus spoke those same words as He hung on a cross for you and me! Sometimes, when everyone around us has turned against us, and we\'re suffering and nothing seems to be going right, it can feel like God has forsaken us. Just take a look at what David was going through when he wrote this Psalm,
But I am a worm and not a man, scorned by men and despised by the people. All who see me mock me; they hurl insults, shaking their heads
But regardless of our circumstances, we know that God does love us and has promised all those who trust Him that He will NEVER forsake us. Look at what King David went on to write in verses 3-5,
Yet you are enthroned as the Holy One; you are the praise of Israel. In you our fathers put their trust; they trusted and you delivered them. They cried to you and were saved; in you they trusted and were not disappointed.
The next time you\'re tempted to feel like God has left you, follow this example and remember a time when you knew that God was close and came to the rescue of someone in the Bible or someone you know, or even you! This is the truth--God loves you, He will never leave you if you trust Him, and He will come close to you in your time of need. Bad guys don\'t get away with it forever! When you get a chance, take a look at the whole 22nd Psalm, and do like King David: remember
and trust!
